Never Ending Walk VR Experiment

The never-ending walk VR experience, sit down, turn on the ambient music, may I suggest some lofi hip hop and, put on your VR cardboard.

All 3D elements present in this prototype were modeled in C4D following low polygons style, also the three low-intensity colors gave a very minimal ambient. In this way I will give you a soft experience if this is your first time trying a virtual world or if you just want to relax.

 Minimum requirements, Android system or iPhone properly updated and any Google cardboard compatible system, check the picture below for reference. Tested on Xiaomi 5s plus MIUI 8.5.6.0 Android browser and, iPhone 6 iOS 10.3.3 Safari browser.

Due to the return and big hip of the VR content, many frameworks are being developed to facilitate the prototyping and construction the final products with reduced efforts and more immediate results. In case of this particular demonstration, I used the Mozilla A-Frame framework, that I found really amazing compared with the early years VRML. In few words, the A-Frame took the well known Three.js and gave the possibility of developing using the existing HTML to add the 3D assets, position them, add scripts and use any modern web browser to display the final result. All 3D models were modeled in Cinema 4D, as I mentioned before, and since I didn’t found any simple widget for exporting the models one-by-one directly to GLTF v2 format, I followed the process: export from C4D to Collada DAE file, then import in Blender and export to GLTF v2. Natively Blender doesn’t have the capability to export in this format but can be added installing Blendergltf plug-in, just follow the instructions. Please pay attention why I mentioned very clearly that I use GLTF v2, this is a format becoming more and more popular, standard, required by A-Frame and can be exported by Blendergltf, check the table of converters and exporters inside Kupoman GitHub and, find if your exporter has the capability to follow the standard 2.0. After this brief introduction, take your imagination with you and drive.
